A devotee came to Swamishri. He had become habituated to tobacco. Swamishri asked, "Why? What is the reason for taking tobacco?"

 "Well, it's because of all the worries and other things..."

"Worries?" Swamishri interrupted. "So have your worries been resolved now? Does this cure your worries? No, in fact it will increase your worries."

"It's just for pleasure," the devotee replied, attempting to save face.

"Pleasure! What pleasure? You'll only get pleasure here (pointing to the murti in front of the devotee). You won't get pleasure from that (the tobacco). Your worries haven't ceased and yet you say you get pleasure."
