The Correct Address

1982. London.

Swamishri wrote a confidential letter to Rameshbhai Hathibhai Patel. Handing it to a sadhu to post, he asked, "Do you know the address?" Confidently, the sadhu said, "Yes," thinking that it must be in the diary. But when he checked, he couldn't find it. The devotee was well known, so the sadhu asked Viveksagar Swami, Narayancharan Swami and others if they knew the address. But no one knew exactly. Eventually they came up with the address: "Patel Traders, Anand." The sadhu labeled the envelope accordingly and passed it on with other letters to Arunkumar to post.

That night, as Swamishri prepared to rest, he asked, "What address did you write?" Pleased that he had found a solution to the task, the sadhu told him the whole story. But Swamishri was not happy, he said, "If you didn't know, you should have asked me. The letter was to be posted to his home address." Then Swamishri gave his complete home address – something no one else had known.
