Swamishri was presiding over the festival of Kartik Punam in Bochasan. One day, before retiring to bed, Swamishri caught a glimpse of Bhagvatcharan Swami standing outside the room. Swamishri signaled to him to come over and stated, "Bhagvatcharan, I haven't seen you around for the last couple of days. Where have you been?"

"I've been busy arranging receptions in your honor at one or two places."

"We don't need any receptions. Why are you wasting your time?"

"You are our Guru. We have to honor you according to your status."

"A servant of God does not desire for honor or status". Saying this Swamishri retired for rest.

Swamishri is a true servant of God.

Today, hundreds of thousands of followers around the globe pay homage to Swamishri as their Guru and guide. He is a beacon to young and old alike. Great spiritual leaders have been touched by Swamishri's pure and sadhuly character. World dignitaries have lauded Swamishri's remarkable effort of bringing about a cultural and spiritual renaissance both at home and abroad. Yet, despite having had such highly commendable tributes, Swamishri has remained indifferent to status or position. To him, the only worthy status is the status of an ideal servant - to serve God and humanity.
