Favorite Festival

As Hindus, we celebrate many festivals throughout the year. Talk about your favorite Hindu festival, how you celebrate it, and why it is your favorite.

My favourite festival is holi. I love it because it is the festival of colours. But nowadays everyone burst balloons of water. Everyone should use natural and pure colours which has no harmful effects and I also use colours on that day.

My all time favorite Hindu festival is Diwali! I love Diwali so much because during annkut, there are so many dishes we can prepare for Maharaj and our guru parampara. It is so much fun offering the thal. After, we all get to also have prasad and enjoy the delicious food too! Fireworks are also a very exciting part of Diwali! At home, during Diwali, I love doing rangoli with my mom. During kids Diwali party at mandir, we get to play different games, eat yummy food, and best of all have fun and memorable times with our friends. Every year I always look forward to celebrating Diwali and it will always be my favorite festival!

Jai Swaminarayan, When I went on holiday to Dubai, one of the days it was Ekadashi. I still obeyed my niyam of doing Ekadashi and had farari food. Every Ekadashi I remember the childhood prasang of Shantial and how he maintained his niyam, even though he was being offered delicious items of food. This inspires me to always keep my niyams. When I'm abraod, I always still do my daily puja. Niyams play a really important part in my life because it keeps me on the right path, all the way to Akshardham.

jay swaminarayan!! we all love to please maharaj and our beloved mahant swami. one the ways is by following niyams. being a satsangi i believe that we should try following our niyams when we are travelling. when i went for a camp, i could not have facilities to bath and therefor i could not do puja. but i requested and i was able to follow the niyams. at that time there was also problem with my food. but i just took food from home that helped me to stay firm with the niyam prescribed in the shikshapatri to not eat onion and garlic.

Jay Swaminarayan. I have two favourite festivals, Holi and Diwali. I like Holi because it represents the devotion of Prahlad when Holika the god of colour was burnt into ashes just to try finish Prahlad and burn him to ashes. I also like Holi because everyone gets to cover people's faces with colour. The other favourite festival I love is Diwali. I love Diwali because Shree Ram Bhagwan, Sita mata and Lakshman returned to Ayodhya after killing Ravan, who was a demon in Lanka and people of Ayodhya were so happy that they used lamps to celebrate their feat. I also like Diwali because today we use fireworks to celebrate it and I like to blow fireworks.

Festivals are the time when all around you is joy, happiness, people forget their differences and embrace each other. As Hindus, every month there is one or the other festival coming up, sometimes we witness festivals everyday back-to-back. Personally, my favorite festival is Diwali. Diwali it's the time to rejoice, have sweets, bright fireworks, beautiful rangoli and much more. The preparation of Diwali starts a fortnight before. All houses go on to cleaning campaigns. Farsan is prepared every where. It all starts with Dhanteras until Dev-Diwali. This is the festival of light, prosperity, and divinity. This is the festival when we worship Goddess Lakshmi to enter our house and bless us with fortune and happiness. The day after Diwali is Nutan Varsh and Annakut. We (Satsangis) wake up early go to the temple and pray for the new year to bring happiness, harmony, and prosperity in everyone's life. Then the grand annakut, satsangis get different delicacies from their homes and all homemade and pure vegetarian to the temple and there is a huge kut (mountain) formed. This is a full family package of festivals. This is why I like this festival.

My Favourite festival is uttarayan, we celebrate it with a lot of pomp in Gujarat. The best thing about uttarayan is Jholi parava, one gets to experience the Jholi parva that our Guru has done. Apart form that the kite flying lasts for two days. Once the sun sets we burst a lot of crackers and light a fanas and tie it with a kite. its fun to see the black sy lited up with numerous candles

My favourite festival is Diwali - Annakut. I love our Hindu new year celebration at BAPS Mandir in Melbourne. We offer a grand Annakut to the god. The crop we cultivate and make a fresh recipe out of that, we offer that to the god first before we eat it. which reflects the true devotion towards our god. What a devotional Celebration!!!

My most favorite part how yall let all of the balaks and kishores do seva in one way or the other. This is why I love Annakut!

Jai Swaminarayan, My favourite festival is Rakshabandhan. However, I don’t have a brother therefore I believe I am tying a rakhadi to Bhagwan asking him to always keep me by safe from the vishays of this world. I on the other side promise to stay within the boundaries he has set us. Looking at the rakhadi reminds me of my commitment to Him and it makes me feel special.

Jai Swaminarayan! My favorite Hindu festival is Diwali! It is my favorite because it has a rich, deep history. There is so much you can learn about the history of Diwali and how it happened. Diwali’s also my favorite because it brings our whole mandir together! While we’re preparing for the exhibition and KDC, haribhaktos/as of all ages come together and do a lot of seva. There is samp everywhere, and it just has an accepting atmosphere! Diwali is extremely fun to celebrate with friends, family, and fellow satsangis!

Jay Swaminarayan to all, As we all know, there are many festivals for us to celebrate. this includes Jal Jhilni, Diwali, Uttarayan, etc. When asked many people stumble upon this question. My answer is Bhagwan Swaminarayan's Birthday. If it were not for him, and Aksharbrahma Gunatitanand Swami, we would have been living a sinful life today. We should forever indebt our lives to Swaminarayan Bhagwan, or in his present form though Gunatitanand Swami, PARAM PUJYA MAHANT SWAMI MAHARAJ. Jay Swaminarayan.
