On October 8, 2023, the whole world rejoiced. This was the day Mahant Swami Maharaj inaugurated Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, USA!

Have you explored Akshardham in person or online? If so, we’ve got three questions for you today regarding your experience…

1.What do you like most about Akshardham? Is it the soothing waters of the Brahma Kund? Or the delights that lie in wait in the gift store? Or the Shayona Cafe’s sumptuous treats? Or is it Bhagwan’s majestic murtis? Or something else? Explain your choice.

2.Tell us what about Akshardham makes you proud and why.

3.What does Akshardham mean to you as a child growing up in the 21st century?

If you haven’t experienced Akshardham, give it a shot by visiting usa.akshardham.org or ask your parents to stream some videos from our YouTube Channel (@AkshardhamUSA).

See if your answers make it into the upcoming Bal Prakash Akshardham Special Edition!

My favorite part about Akshardham was Maharaj’s murti, because when you walk in, you instantly see the murti, and his eyes look so loving. Akshardham makes me proud because I can tell my friends about it, and they would enjoy seeing such a magnificent place. Akshardham means to me a place I that I can explain to people about Indian culture and our Sanstha.

1. Oh yeah, that’s easy. The big murti of Sahajanand Swami tilting his head. It looks nice! I like him because he is big and smiling brightly. Also, Gunatitanand Swami is sitting right next to him. 2. Um, because Pramukh Swami Maharaj wanted it there for many people to come visit. 3. It reminds me of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, and one of his last wishes for America.

1. I like the stained glass behind Sahajanand Swami’s large murti. It has my favorite colors. 2. It makes me proud because no other culture has a structure like Akshardham. 3. There’s no other mandir in North America this large. It made me feel special that I was able to be part of the pratishta as a satsangi. It made me feel that Akshardham is mine, made for me.

I loved walking into Akshardham and seeing all the different murtis of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and his devotees. Growing up America, Akshardham means bringing  peace of India to America.

2. One of the things I feel most proud about Akshardham is that so many women helped built it. Most if not none of the women volunteers had absolutely no skills or knowledge about construction but because of their gurus wish, they came, worked hard and successfully accomplished the goal all because of their gurus agna. Akshardham gives me another reason to be proud of being a woman in BAPS!

JAY SWAMINARAYAN 1. I have no words about akshardham but the thing which attracted me the most is the mesmerizing murti of lord swaminarayan it is designed at such an angle that it seems as if he is constantly watching me. I also liked the murti of gunatitanand swami which was filled with dasbhav and divyabhav. Also the tapa murti of nilkanth varni attracted me a lot, his calm and undisturbed pose engaged in deep yoga prayer symbolizes spiritual focus and discipline. All the murtis are an beacon of inspiration. For me it is not only murti but the god himself. 2. Akshardham makes me feel proud proud proud and proud . As it is the largest hindu temple in the united states ! and the 2nd largest hindu temple in the world! which is built by our BAPS sanstha and not only this mandir but the world's largest hindu temple is made by our BAPS sanstha yes! it's delhi akshardham! 3. Akshardham literally means the divine abode of god. It is an eternal place for one to offer devotion and experience everlasting peace. the mandir is a humble tribute to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, the avatars, devas and sages of hinduism. Akshardham inspires me to connect with each other and with Divine. As a child growing in 21st century for me akshardham is not just monument of stones and marbles it is the love and hardwork of our sant's , volunteers and of course our guruhari Mahant Swami Maharaj. all this wouldn't have been possible without the blessings of PSM , lord swaminarayan and our spiritual successor . JAY SWAMINARAYAN !

Jai swaminarayan, something that I like about the akshardham is the murti of Nilkanth Varni, and also I like the murti of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Something about the Akshardham that I am proud of is that all of the people made this akshardham to make swami proud and also that they took out their own time to help to do the seva for akshardham.

What I love most about Akshardham is the majestic murti of Bhagwan and how it embraces every detail of himself. The fact that Mahant Swami himself added such specific details to the murti, like those on Maharaj's vastra and his overall appearance, is truly inspiring. Mahant Swami Maharaj's attention to detail throughout Akshardham shows how much thought he put into making it perfect.↵ The aspect of Akshardham that fills me with pride is its status as the largest temple outside Asia. It not only symbolizes significant figures from our Sanstha (baps) but also represents Hinduism on a broader scale. Akshardham seamlessly integrates diverse styles, blending traditional and modern elements stunningly. To me, Akshardham gives hope that our culture, not just as a BAPS Satsangi but also as a Hindu, will continue to thrive even when the world around us is falling apart. To me, it means that our culture will endure and flourish in the face of challenges.

I like the majestic murtis in Akshardham because it has the divine touch of Mahant swami maharaj who sketches the murti by his own hands and gave the shape. Akshardham makes me proud because it is made of all the devotes seva and samp. As a child I witnessed the dream of my guru pramukh swami maharaj and Mahant swami maharaj coming true and it means peace and happiness to my community and the whole world.
