As balaks, we strive to please Maharaj and Swami by doing seva,
whether in the mandir, or at home. In the mandir, we do things such as
cleaning it up, helping serve food, or helping the Pujari. At home, we
serve our parents and grandparents ("Mata ne Vandan Karo...Pita ne vandan
karo"). By doing seva, we are able to not only help others, but purify
ourselves. It also fills us with joy and pride. As Swamishri says, "In the
joy of thers, lies your own".

Whenever I do seva, it makes me feel as if i have done something to
keep my atma clean. seva doesnt mean something that has to be hard. it can
be as easy as picking up trash, but seva is seva. when i do seva, i am not
only only following maharaj and swami's agana, but i am earning the
eternal rajipo of bapa. i feel that is important to experience the bliss
that you feel within yourself when you do seva as jina bhagat used to do.

DIWAL/ANNAKUT: I just came back from my 5-day camp on Friday the day
of diwali. After the sabha I did the seva of serving water by filling up
the cups and handing them to the people. It was so hard to see the other
end of the mandir for there were a lot of people and our mandir is pretty
small. I did the same thing on Annakut day but in the morning i did the
"kachro" seva by collecting all the plates given to me and seperate the
left overs, spoons, bowls and the plates. With Bapa's aashirvaad i was
able to do that seva with joy and not with frustration. I wish to
continually do seva like this for the rest of my life.

My satsang mandal started out with some three or four families, but is
rapidly growing. I help out by distributing water and stacking the chairs
that were used during sabha. My parivar of satsangi families attends the
samaiyos at the harimandir in L.A. We also do sincere seva there. Seva
doesn't only have to be in the mandir. Seva can be anything one does to
help others. It can simply be like helping around the house. When a family
memeber is ill, I help out by giving, say, my brother the medicines and
fetching water for him. Though sometimes we get disheartened when another
gets more credit, we shouldn't just plainly give up. One should always
keep in mind that Maharaj and Swami know the ones that have done seva with
a true heart, and that is what matters most.

At My mandir, I always do the housework. Whenever I am asked to do
seva I'm ready to do it. I also vacuum the main entrance and am always
doing seva with a smile. I'm proud when I do this because I feel as if
I've accomplished and I know I've made Maharaj and Swami happy. I also
wash the shoe hallway. Anything on the ground, I always pick it up. These
are some of the sevas my mandir has inspired me to do.

I do a lot of seva in the Mandir. One of them is cleaning our balika
rooms. Another seva is helping with the vacum really I can't carry that
big thing but I move the wires and chairs and other things that are in the
way. During samayo's I help with taping or other things that need to be
done. I also do seva at home. I clean the house, table, and my room/desk.
I also do seva at school by helping my teacher with our bullintin board
plus with cleaning up the floors of our classroom. Sometimes my teacher
forgets to pick up her mail or mail that needs to go home I help her by
pick it up. I don't only help adults I also help children. When a child
needs got hurt I take him up to the nurse I don't care if I miss recess! I
do a lot of seva I now that Mahraja is very happy with me.

During Diwali last year, i had done mandir darshan at the new
shikharbadh mandir in Atlanta. i had to stand constantly holding a sign
and letting people in the mandir for the annakut dardshan and thal. it was
sure a hectic day, because i did that seva for the whole day. But when i
really think about it right now i feel divinity in my heart, i feel that
maharaj and swami are proud of me, and last but not least performing seva
really feels great when you think about it and maharaj swami will be
really happy.

In my very small satsang mandal, I help out by giving water to the
vadils, stacking chairs, folding the asanas, and putting away the speaker
wires. I also put out the dinner tables in the hall. Before anyone gets to
the hall, my friend and I open the hall and vacuum it. It can be
disgusting sometimes, but I also take the vadils' dinner plate and throw
it away for them. Seva is root to many good deeds, so I know it's always
good to seize the opportunity and do seva as much as I can to please
Maharaj and Swami.

My mandir has just now newly opened. We do not have a lot of
population here but we have just as much fun. Our sabha starts at 4:30 p.m
and then at 5:00 we have balak and balika sabha. At 5:45 p.m, we have
kishor and kishori sabha. At the same time the adults have regular Ravi
Sabha. At 6:30 we do aarti and then the ladies and girls proceed to the
kitchen to set up for the prasadi. We help vaacum the mandir and clean the
kitchen, do the HUGE dishes, and we help clean the bathrooms! Although our
mandal is small, we do just as much seva as other mandirs do!

I was responsible for a very big seva in the mandir. And I it was a
great experience. To tell the truth, I wasn't interested at all. This
reminded me of Yogiji Maharaj who never rejected seva. For instance, he
has specify in the Yogi Gita that when he gets to do seva, he would be
verrrrrrrrry joyous. Anyways... I had to help scrape paint off the tiles.
This was sourte of boring but some other balaks and I had to do this seva
to keep our mandir clean. As I was doing it, I felt peace in my mind and I
realized that we have to treat our mandir as if it is our home. And from
that day, I realized to never reject seva cause you're making our own
Swamibapa happy.

Jai Swaminarayan I go to Detroit Mandir in USA. There I take a part in
Singing on Stage and also helping out in kitchen washing dishes also
vacuming the sabha hall I also take a part in Kishore Mandal there. The
experience that I got from doing all these seva was having fun and plus
learning alot of things that you might never know like your abilities of
doing speech or singing. I didn't know that I could do a speech or Sing in
front of all these people without Mandir or BAPS or P. Bapa. My mission of
doing all these seva is Akshardham and Bapa's Rajipo. Thank You Jai
