Jai Swaminarayan,
Do you remember ever making a promise for your best friends, parents or siblings? The answer is probably yes! We make promises here and there, but the question is do we keep them or do we tend to break them? When Shriji Maharaj was first appointed as the Guru by Ramanand Swami He promised us, His bhaktos, two things. The first one, “A devotee of mine should never suffer from the lack of food, clothing and shelter”. And second, “If a devotee of mine is to suffer the sting of a scorpion then in his place, let me suffer the sting in every pore of my body.” Throughout His lifetime and beyond, He has kept His promise. Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj have also maintained this promise. Once Pramukh Swami Maharaj was in London and was doing dhun to Harikrishna Maharaj. His sevak sant then asked, “Bapa what are you praying for?” Bapa replied, “We are doing dhun for the good of other haribhakto, what else?” Just like Shriji Maharaj, our Gurus constantly live for us. If they do so much for us, should we not do something for them? Let’s start taking small steps to do what they want us to do and make them smile.
Until next time!
