For Your Special Day!
Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s birthday is coming soon! If you got the chance to dress up any murti of your choosing for this special day, which murti would you pick? Would it be Ghanshyam Maharaj from Gondal? Or Harikrishna Maharaj from Sarangpur? Or how about Mahant Swami Maharaj’s murtis of Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj? What about this murti do you like so much?
Also, how would you dress the murti? Would you offer a sparkling crown? Would you make a swing for Bhagwan? Imagine away, for it’s a special day! |

I would choose the murti of Akshar Purushottam Maharaj that Mahant Swami Maharaj keeps with him. I would place the murtis in a hindola. I would dress them with a dhoti and kurta. And I will give them sparkling golden crowns, silver staffs, anklets, kadas, and golden haars. I would also give them flowers to hold, rose malas to wear, and beautiful nupurs. I would then offer pushpanjali. Jay Shree Swaminarayan.

I would choose to decorate my own Thakorji murti – the one I have at home. It is my very own from Mahant Swami Maharaj. I would dress it in light clothing that has a nice, light blue color. I would add jewellery and a mughat. I would also offer Thakorji cake!

Jay Swaminarayan. I pick Sydney mandir’s Ghanshyam Maharaj, and I would like to dress him up in all colours – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white, gold and, silver, too!
So, at first, he will wear a jariani vastra, and it will be red, orange, and green and white stripes with raindrop-shaped diamonds all around the jariani vastra. Secondly, my Ghanshyam Maharaj will wear a dhoti with blue, purple, pink, and silver stripes. And the dhoti will have heart-shaped diamonds all around it.
Now, he will wear mojadis made with real gold. And he will even wear a really pretty, tall, emerald mughat. Ghanshyam Maharaj will have golden earrings with diamonds. And he will have a pink, yellow, and white rose garland.
Ghanshyam Mahraj will have a diamond on his right hand, and on his left hand he will have a white handkerchief with an embroidered pink rose on it. Thank you, and Jay Swaminarayan!

Jay Swaminarayan. If I had the opportunity to dress up my favourite murti of Shriji Maharaj, it would be Ghanshyam Maharaj from Sydney. I would dress Maharaj in long, flowy robes that are navy blue. He would have a white-coloured handkerchief with navy-blue flowers, a silver mughat, and silver kundals.

I would pick Swaminarayan Bhagwan’s murti from Wellingborough since I have memories of him from when I was in Year 6 and had my SATs. I prayed, and Bapa gave me really good results. I would dress Bhagwan with amber-coloured vaghas with gold stripes. For the pagh, I would put a baby pink one with rose gold flowers, and I would add a pink haar on for the finishing touch.

I would pick the Akshar-Purshottam murti in Wellingborough because it is really beautiful and really nice. I would dress it black, but sometimes also in black and purple because it looks really nice. When I imagine the colours I picked out on Akshar-Purshottam Maharaj, it fits quite well!
