Chaturmas , the four months of the rainy season, is  a sacred period.  During   the month of Shravan   Bhagwan Swaminarayan is worshipped through vrat and austerities. Also, discourses are held by sadhus and other devotees. Bal-Balika mandals conduct discourses in the form of Parayan to please Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Guruhari Pramukh Swami Maharaj. This year also the Bal Pravruti Central Office-Ahmedabad supervised such  discourses lasting three days.

As part of the programme the reading of the Shikshapatri in Gujarati verseswas arranged. Children recited slokas illustrating the niyams and enacted dialogues and skits, etc. to guide others. Video shows were arranged to show the importance of Shikshapatri.

On the first day of the programme ‘Pothi Yatra’ in the form of procession was taken out. Children  enthusiastically participated in the programme by singing dhuns and slogans. Some of them were  dressed as Bhakta Prahalad, Dhruv, Shravan, Naradji, etc. The three-day parayan also witnessed hindola, arti and painting contests for the progress of kids.  On the last day annakut was offered to Thakorji.

 Pujya Sadguru Santos, Kothari Swamis and Bal Pravrutti  santos and Volunteers participated in the programme to make this year’s Bal Parayan a great Success.
