    Celebrating 6th Annual Day Function, Raisan

It was a glorious day for the school, festoons hung from every corner, the whole place was lit up, 1st standard teachers were seen shooing the kids inside and asking them to stay quiet, the school choir killed time and others by rehearsing, the compere was seen scribbling something furiously in that ragged half sheet he had, the boys were heard asking others whether their dress looked neat, the lady teachers were seen looking at the clock intently and at the right intervals, take out their cosmetic box and powder up the students, the male teachers on the other hand alternated between children and maintaining discipline, some volunteers looked to see that the chairs were arranged in a proper manner were seen discussing the distance between each chair and row and whether the 11th chair in the 8th row was a little crooked, some parents were eagerly waiting to shoot their children performing in the celebration. Finally the moment came for which all were waiting for it was the 6th Grand Annual Day Celebration of BAPS –Raisan School based on the theme “a tribute to our guru His Divine Holiness Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj through divine glimpses from his Life”

The programme began with the Dhun and the Prarthana followed by the lightening of the lamp by pujya Ishwar Charan Swami, later floral greetings were extended to the guest of honour, Phulchand Agrawal the Chairman of Phulchand Exports Ltd., Mumbai and other saints & guests. The welcome speech given by Pujya Brahmavihari Swami, gave a wonderful message that the life of a man is like a pencil the more you sharp it the better it turns to face its struggle in life and march ahead in life. The parents as well as the guests roared in claps by this wonderful message of Swami.

Then the blessings were showered by Pujya Ishwar Charan Swami.

No sooner that the saints left the stage, the Principal Madam Mrs.Monalisa Das arrived on the stage and shared the words of cooperation and support with the parents. The function began with, the performance of pre-primary kids, who presented the beautiful lovable toddler song and they really added a cherry on pie by their performances. Later students of primary and secondary sections performed various dances giving a tribute to Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj which really touched the hearts of all the people in the function. A skit was performed by the students explaining a Role of Guru in one’s life. Finally a heart throbbing performance was given by the senior students performing the artstic pyramids really throbbed the hearts of some of the parents. It was a thrilling, fulfilled evening, packed with the variety of events from dance to drama and songs. Honouring the students for their skills and efforts put in by the children in different fields during the academic year 2011-12 was also a part of this function. At last an Aarti was performed by all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school in a group giving a tribute to Lord Swaminarayan and Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Finally a vote of thanks was given by the Principal and congratulating all the students for their efforts and commitment for the school.
