The academic year for the school BAPS Swaminarayan is ending and nothing can be better than the guidance of a saint at the end of the year. A discourse of PujyaVivekjeevan swami was at the school. students were once again blessed by divine knowledge of  Swamiji. Who took diksha in 1976, served the sanstha and wrote many books. Recently the book on Hinduism was honoured by the former president Shri Abdul Kalam. The topic for the day was “Aacharya Devo Bhava”.Values of Indian culture has spread far and wide in the whole world. Elaborating the term Swamiji said that Indian culture being mother of all the cultures had always emphasized on the eternal values like love, compassion, peace, and above all respect.Whether  it is a respect for parents or guru being student’s primary duty is to respect his teacher , his mentor. It is said that “Faith can even shake mountains”, as a student he should have faith in his guru in order to mould his life in path of success and in direction of God.

He also acknowledged the students for having respect towards educators. There should be strong bonding between students and educators. He cited some eg:- A good orchastera is one that has a good tuning with its instruments. In the same manner with love, respect & emotion one would develop good relation between students & educator. He also differentiated the meaning of ‘Students and Disciples.’‘Students’ means who learns or , obtains knowledge from the educator but ‘Disciple’ means who follows or obeys his guru. He gave example of SatyakaamJabali and Rama Swami who attained the spiritual knowledge by being a staunch follower or disciple of their gurus.

He motivated, guided the student to follow the great saints and disciples like Eklavya, Bhagatji Maharaj, Abdul Kalam and imbibe among themselves as their role models in their life. Thus he enlightened the spiritual knowledge of respecting their educators and obeying them. Which would give a good shape to their future. He also said that H.D.H Pramukh Swami Maharaj too loves, respects and has faith in his guru and being the disciple of Bapa the students also must follow the same principles of “Acharya Devo Bhava”.

Socrates rightly said

“Grant to me that I may be made beautiful in my soul within, and that all external possessions, be in harmony with my innerman.”
