Bal Mahayagna For Universal Peace, Visnagar, Gujarat
11 March 2012

Our culture has given a prominent place for yagna. Yagna is a  Vedic ritual that purifies our souls leading to all-round peace and prosperity. According to the Upanishads, yagna is the swarup of Paramatma.

Let us visit  the Mahayagna  by way of service rendered by Balaks at Visnagar, the soil sanctified by Bhagwan Swaminarayan. The venue was BAPS  Swaminarayan Mandir built by Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The yagna was held on Sunday, 11 March, 2012. Balaks of Mehsana district Balmandal numbering 700 acted as yajamans. Some 60 yagnakunds (sacrificial pits) were constructed for the purpose. The scholarly sant of Gandhinagar, Pujya Shrutiprakash Swami, assisted the young yajamans to  invoke Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan, Gunatit Guru parampara, devas by puja rituals. He also guided them on how to make the ceremony a success through prayer. The Kothari of Mehsana Mandir, Pujya Karunamurti Swami and sadhus in charge of children’s activities were present on the occasion.
The Balaks were made aware of our cultural heritage. Pujya Deenabandhu Swami, Pujya Amritkishore Swami and sants besides those connected with Balmandal activities rendered note worthy service to make the Mahayagna a success.
