New Delhi, India

New Delhi – More than 250 boys and girls from the National Capitol Territory and its surrounding areas recently gathered at the Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi for a unique one-day shibir. Hosted at the Swaminarayan Research Institute on July 28th, 2013, the shibir was graced by Sadguru Pujya Swayamprakashdas Swami (Doctor Swami). The shibir’s theme was ‘Uttishtha’ or ‘Awake’ and it hoped to awake and motivate the children to focus on self-improvement. The day’s activities guided the attendees to focus on how they might become better in Satsang, sanskars, and studies. One of the highlights of the shibir was the live demonstration of a Mercedes car. The children were shown the vehicle and its manufacturer’s attention to details and improvement. In this way, the children were shown a tangible way to understand the benefit of constantly working to improve. Along with such interesting workshops, the shibir included plenty of games, skits, video shows, and engaging talks by sadhus. The attendees were also given activity notebooks which encouraged them to engage the following topics:

  1. The Right Age for Improvement
  2. Fruits of Improvement
  3. Where can I improve?
  4. Hurdles in Improvement
  5. Sacrifice for Improvement
  6. Satsang – The Best Way for 100% Improvement

Children were also honoured to be addressed by Sadguru Pujya Doctor Swami, who in his captivating style gave the children unparalleled guidance in becoming better sons and daughters, siblings, students, and citizens.
