India, August 1, 2014– Shravan is considered the most sanctified month of the year. It is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar and is also known as the first month of Chatur Mas - the four holiest months in Hindu Hindi Calendar.
During the auspicious month of Sharavan, with the inspiration of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, a three day Shishu Parayan was held in 219 centers and the Balika Parayan was held in 1,942 centers across India.
In keeping with the year-long celebrations for Shastriji Maharaj's 150th birth anniversary, the parayan was themed “Jai Jai Shastriji Maharaj.” Through dances, skits and speeches the girls presented the life & work of Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj.

During the three day parayan, various competitions were held in which the balikas prepared decorative arti dishes, variety of delightful mini hindolas, painting, colorful rangoli and annakut. The girls of Bharuch’s BAPS Balika Mandal also went to each and every house to ask for alms. Later, they collected rice and pulses and cooked in make shift utensils to experience the hardships Shastriji Maharaj had gone through while building the mandirs.

The parayan was a success due to the blessings of Swamishri and the efforts of karyakars.
