Ahmedabad, Gujarat, December 21, 2014 – Like centres all over Gujarat, the BAPS Ahmedabad Children’s Activity organised a Grand Children’s Assembly (Virat Bal Sammelan) in honour of Shastriji Maharaj and the life he lived for us. The program was themed “Thaiye Dungar Bhagat Jeva” and was attended by more than 2500 children and 550 volunteers from Ahmedabad city.

The day’s festivities began after the morning arti at the mandir. Children first visited the engaging exhibition organized by the girls’ wing. Presenting incidents from Shastriji Maharaj’s life in unique, creative ways, the exhibit immersed the children into Shastriji Maharaj’s life.
After the exhibit, the children next entered the Pramukh Swami Auditorium through the “Mokshnu Dwar” gate. It was here that the main assembly was held. The assembly was started auspiciously by P. Ishwarcharan Swami who lit the ceremonial lamp and then addressed the children saying:

We should truly thank Shastriji Maharaj because he explained the true upasana, that of Akshar and Purushottam, to us. That Shastriji Maharaj is present today in Param Pujya Pragat Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj. We must that firm in our lives.

Following the opening, the attendees enjoyed a series of plays, videos and activities that shared different incidents from Shastriji Maharaj’s childhood and highlighted what it was that today’s children could gain from those incidents. The entire show was hosted by two children dressed as childhood friends of Dungar Bhagat (Shastriji Maharaj’s childhood name). With humour, wit and even wisdom, the two led the assembly through its variety of presentations until the grand finale of the assembly – a enthralling dance. As children danced on stage, the children in the hall also participated and volunteers waved the BAPS flag throughout the audience.

In all 107 children participated in the presentations throughout the assembly and were integral to making this loving tribute to Shastriji Maharaj a grand success.
