New Delhi, New Delhi, March 28, 2015– By the grace and inspiration of H.H. Pramukh Swami Maharaj, about 600 boys and girls from all over Delhi as well as from Jaipur participated in a three day camp at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir at New Delhi.
The camp was titled SanskrutiShibirand was held from 26th March to 28th March, 2015. The main focus of the shibir was to acquaint children with our culture and heritage. Since, this is a wide topic in itself, this shibirfocused on our traditional festivals. The children celebrated a year’s worth of festivals in three days. This allowed them to not just hear about our culture but to experience it first hand and truly enjoy it.
The participants were immersed in a cohesive experience that aimed to form a connection between them and our Hindu culture. As a part of the 3-Day Shibir, an array of activities, workshops, skits and motivational speeches were organized so that they could better understand their culture.BAPS volunteers explained the origins, sentiments and rituals of over 30 festivals which are celebrated in Hinduism. The objective of the festivals were to make students learn values such as sacrifice, gurubhakti, family unity, discipline and many more moral values which ultimately help them to have a better and prosperous life.
There were also many memorable moments in the, like the samuhpuja at the AkshardhamMandir. Furthermore, the children visited the entire complex including the Sahaj-Anand Water Show as a part of the 3-Day camp.
