Bal Vikas Parva 2014
East Africa
July 2014

This year’s Bal Vikas Parva was held at Kakamega for 3 days. A total of 120 balaks and balikas from Kisumu, Kakamega, Eldoret and Bomet attended the parva. The children started arriving by noon. At registration each child was given a welcome kit for the parva. The kit included a notebook, pen, sweets and cookies. The parva began after lunch. The main theme for the parva was  “Akshar Purshottam Upasana ne Kaj.” The children learned about sarvopari, sakar, divya, and pragat – the four aspects of our upasana – through various speeches, presentations, videos, and fun activities by sadhus and karyakars. The children learned about the difficulties that Shastriji Maharaj faced while spreading the Akshar Purshottam Upasana. All the children attentively listened to the talks and actively took part in the activities. The children also enjoyed various activities such as soccer, cricket, and musical chairs. On the last day of the parva the sadhus tied rakhadis to the balaks. After which the children returned to their respective centres.
