Bal-Balika Shibir : “BAPS Ek Parivar (The Power of One)”
28 July 2012
Melbourne, Australia

On Saturday 28 July 2012, balaks and balikas of BAPS in Melbourne gathered for their very first full day shibir in the newly consecrated Mandir.  Having met peers from various centres around the Asia-Pacific region during their recent Mandir Mahotsav in March earlier this year, this shibir on “BAPS Ek Parivar (The Power of One)” was like icing on the cake.

The shibir began with deep pragatya and a key note address by Pujya Jnanpurush Swami where he explained how Niyams are the important tools for moksha. The intricate topic of Nishchay was made simple by Pujya Adarshmuni Swami’s speech and practical demonstration through games like tug of war and darts.  Children learnt about the message of “United We Stand” through the topic of Paksha.

The evening was concluded with Swamishri’s blessings followed by the evening arti.  At the end of the day, it was not just the children who left happily after having spent a fun filled day with Santo, but also their parents were content for their children to receive such life-lessons in a language that they can understand.
