Children's Diwali Celebration
15 November, 2010, USA & Canada

Diwali is one of the most enjoyable occasions in the year for Hindus all over the world. It is a time for family gatherings and celebration of the New Year. Across North America, thousands of families visited BAPS Mandirs to take part in the festivities.

Many mandirs had also hosted a Children’s Diwali Celebration which was fun as well as educational. The children learned the history and origins of this festival, played a variety of exciting games, and were given an assortment of gifts and goodies. The celebration also helped balaks and balikas practice the rites and rituals behind the festival. All in all, over 5,000 children at over 38 mandirs left this year’s Children’s Diwali Celebrations with a better understanding and appreciation of Diwali and its traditions.
